Events around the well

Beltane Water Parade Saturday 1st May 2027

Meet up at Windy Cross and parade to Covety Spring by The Old Bowling Green.

The Lady of the well will be attended by 'well maidens' and water deities for the parade. Music will be played and dancing on route.

Meet at Windy Cross to dress the well. The appointed Lady of the well will place an offering of flowers, and there will be a short speech.

Walk to Covety Spring, honouring the waters with songs, flowers and gratitude.

Picnic at the Old Bowling green, weather dependant.

Parade back to Windy Cross.

Refreshments over the road from Windy Cross well at 3 Mill Street.
